Winners of PACT Euchre tournament

The first Sunday of the PACT euchre tournament is over. We think everyone enjoyed themselves. The lucky first place winner was Marlin and the second place winner was Darlene. Both were awarded a cash prize. The next euchre tournament is Sunday, September 26th. It will start exactly at 3 PM so don’t be late! PACT NEWSLETTER Hello to all PACT members. We hope that your summer is going well and you are enjoying the great weather while it is here! This summer, PACT was able to benefit from two fundraisers. Both were golf tournaments. The first, held in June was sponsored by Ski’s Restaurant. It was the 3rd annual golf tournament held at the Legacy Golf Club. Mitch Garwolinski Back By Popular Demand

Abducted from his family by the Nazis at the age of 8, he was starved, tortured and left for dead three times.  During his third capture, he was sent to an experimental hospital where cruel medical experiments were done on him.  The rest of his family – a brother, sister, and parents – were also captured and sent to different slave labor or concentration camps. Tom Waniewski Presents His Views

On Thursday, July 29th about 40 people gathered at Ski’s Restaurant to listen to Tom Waniewski, Toledo City Councilman, who is currently running for the Ohio State Senate. Mr. Waniewski outlined much of his platform which included lowering state taxes, balancing the budget and cutting out much of the special interest spending which currently exists. Katyn Exhibit

On Saturday, July 24th, the Katyn exhibit came to Toledo. The presentation was shown at the Rosary Care Center on the campus of Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio. Dr. Allen Paul gave a lecture about the events surrounding Katyn in World War II and the background to this historic and tragic event that took the lives of 22,000 Polish army officers, intellectuals, teachers, and government officials by the hands of the Russian Army. David Yonke Speech

On Wednesday, September 30th, Mr. David Yonke, Religion Editor at The Blade, shared his reporter’s view of the Fr. Robinson trial with a crowd of approximately 70 enthusiastic attendees at Ski’s Restaurant.  Mr. Yonke was the first person to break the story that police believed Fr. Robinson killed Sister Margaret Ann Pahl in a ritual murder.   His book, Sin, Shame and Secrets; The Murder of a Nun, the Conviction of a Priest, and Cover-Up in the Catholic Church was published in 2006.
