The dedication of the  Ohio Historical Marker honoring Alexander Drabik took place on Saturday, May 28th at the site of his birthplace in Holland, Ohio.  About 150 family and friends attended this dedication to honor the WWII hero.  Sergeant Alexander Drabik, the first American soldier to cross the bridge at Remagen, Germany received the Distinguished Service Cross for his heroism on April 5, 1945. Along with many of his relatives (he was one of 14 children to John and Frances Drabik) and friends and those that just wanted to honor a war hero, the Historical Marker was presented to the Drabik family.  There to reminisce the life of Alexander Drabik was a niece,  Phyllis Lesinski and his granddaughter, Katrina Wilson.  Also on hand to speak was congresswoman, Marcy Kaptur. Alex’s daughter, Rita Drabik Wilson and his granddaughter, Katrina unveiled the Historic Marker.  A twenty one gun salute and the playing of taps followed the unveiling.
